Frequently asked questions
Yes, preserved flowers are 100% real blooms. They’re harvested at their peak and treated with natural glycerin and food-safe dyes to stay soft and vibrant for years.Compared with fresh flowers, they don’t need water or sunlight. Compared with dried flowers, they keep a lifelike appearance and natural texture. Compared with artificial flowers, they’re made from real plants, not plastic or silk.
Usually, preserved flowers can last 2-5 years. But it depends on how you care for them. Always keep them indoors, away from water, direct sunlight, and humidity, they can stay in good condition for 5 years or even longer. Just remember to store them in a dry, comfortable place (the same environment you enjoy) and try not to touch them too often. With a little care, they will stay beautiful for years.
Preserved flowers are usually unscented because their natural scent fades during the preservation process. That will make preserved flowers safe for people with allergies without pollen or fragrance. However, if you enjoy having a scent, you can lightly spray floral mist or use an essential oil diffuser nearby. Just avoid using colored or oil-based sprays directly on the petals, as they may leave marks.
Tip: Spray your favorite fragrance on a small card and place it inside the gift box. It keeps the petals safe and lets you change the scent anytime you want.
Absolutely! Preserved flowers are safe to touch and display indoors. They’re treated with non-toxic, plant-based glycerin and food-safe dyes, which makes them safe for most people, including those who are sensitive to pollen. All organic activity is deactivated during the preservation process. Still, try not to handle them too often—natural oils from your fingers can stay on the petals and may cause slight discoloration over time. Actually, preserved flowers should always be kept indoors and are not edible for humans or pets. If accidentally ingested, please seek medical help immediately.
Not really. Preserved flowers have actually been around for more than 30 years. The technique started in Japan in the early ’90s and has recently appeared in Canada as people look for long-lasting, low-maintenance alternatives to fresh blooms. At ZESO Blooms™, we use improved preservation methods based on that original process, helping our flowers stay natural-looking, safe, and beautiful for years without needing too much care.
If your flowers arrive damaged or incorrect, please contact us within 7 days of delivery at info@zeso.ca with your order number and photos. We’ll review it right away and arrange a replacement or refund according to our Return & Refund Policy.
All orders are shipped from our Calgary warehouse. We usually process and ship within 1–2 business days, and most deliveries across Canada take 2–7 business days depending on your location and the courier. For full details, please check our Shipping Policy.
Since the first preserved flower technology was developed in Japan in the 1990s, the basic process of harvesting, drying, coloring, and stabilizing hasn’t really changed. What truly makes a difference today is the source of the flowers, the quality of the filling materials, and the production scale. ZESO Blooms™ has its own flower plantation located at an altitude of 1,892 meters, where the temperature stays between 18–24°C all year round. We also have our own preservation factory, which helps us keep quality steady while producing in larger volumes. It lets us use better, eco-friendly materials, maintain a stable supply, and offer fair prices.
At ZESO Blooms™, we keep things simple. We believe marketing should be honest — no tricks and no fine print. Every ZESO Gift Card has no expiry date, no minimum spend, and no hidden terms. You can use it anytime, on any product. We stand for full transparency and welcome anyone to hold us accountable. If you ever find something on our site that isn’t true or clear, email us at info@zeso.ca and we’ll thank you with a gift. That’s the ZESO way:
What we promise is what we do, even if we’re still chasing perfection.
